The Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board (EMRB) is a regional growth management board consisting of an elected official from the 13 member municipalities from within the Region. The EMRB's predecessor, the Capital Region Board was established in 2008.

EMRB's new regulation gives the it a mandate to do two things: Implement the  Edmonton Metropolitan Region Growth Plan and create a Metro Servicing Plan.

The Board has been granted the authority to approve Municipal Statutory plans and ensure the compliance with the Growth Plan, in accordance with the Regional Evaluation Framework (REF)
