Esri Canada has partnered with EMRB to bring GIS and Open Data training to the municipal staff and stakeholders of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region April 18-20, 2018.

The half day introductory GIS 101 will be offered at no charge, and the two-day course Open Data for Impact has been discounted to $100 per person with lunch and coffee included, from its regular fee of $1050.

EMRGIS Coordinator Brandt Denham says ESRI Canada has been impressed with the development, rollout, and impact of EMRB's Edmonton Metropolitan Region GIS (EMRGIS) and sees the Region as fertile ground for cutting edge activity and thus proposed the one-time training offer to EMRB.

The 101 course will provide hands-on introduction to GIS  for those newly interested in GIS and the two day Open Data for Impact course is designed help the more experienced  create an open data strategy and roll out open data to their communities.

However due to space and time restrictions, the offer is limited to 20 participants per event.
