My vision for the Region is for responsible growth in our urban and rural communities. Responsible growth and compact urban communities will provide our Region with a land base that can support new development in agriculture, secondary ag processing, local foods and recreation. This – combined with a continued investment on industrial growth – will create a prosperous and complete Region.

Elected to Leduc County Council in 2013. Currently serving her sixth year as Mayor.

Mayor Doblanko grew up in Mannville, a small village in central Alberta. A farm girl at heart, she moved to Leduc County in 2000 where she operates a cow calf operation with her husband. 

Prior to her career in politics, Mayor Doblanko worked as an assistant superintendent with the Edmonton Public School Board. She believes in facilitating clear, concise communication about decisions made and the impacts these decisions have on Leduc County citizens.

We’re always exploring new ways to grow and empower our business community. With this funding from the Government of Canada, we have an incredible opportunity to develop a space to support some smaller enterprises within emerging industry sectors.

Impact across the Region

Mayor Doblanko is a strong advocate for fostering thriving rural communities and growing the value-added agriculture and agri-food sectors through the implementation of the EMRB’s Regional Agriculture Master Plan (RAMP). With agriculture being one of the largest industries in Leduc County and in the Region, she knows first hand the significance of this sector to the Region’s ongoing and future prosperity: growing these sectors could lead to an estimated $10 billion increase in our Region’s annual GDP in the next 10 years. 

Mayor Doblanko is an active member on many boards that contribute to the overall competitiveness and livability of the Region including the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority, Intermunicipal Liaison Committee and Edmonton Global.
