We know the status quo approach to growth won’t be sustainable for municipalities or their taxpayers. Our challenges are big, but so are the opportunities to grow in a different more collaborative way – because the payoff of working together is clear.
If implemented properly, Re-imagine. Plan. Build., will save the Region nearly 160km² of land and an estimated $5B of investment over the next 30 years. By planning differently, we can avoid unsustainable costs of duplicating investment and growth associated with growing out instead of in, costs paid by future generations.

is equivalent to an area the size of Elk Island National Park.

is equivalent to the total cost of building 300 schools in the Region.
OUR IMPACT
The impact of our work is about more than just policies for land-use
or agriculture, or programs to build roads and collect waste.
The impact of our work is enabling a fundamental culture shift towards thinking and acting as a Region with a common purpose and vision. As one integrated Region, we create operational efficiencies, leverage economies of scale, enhance investor certainty, reduce duplication, and harness and leverage regional knowledge, experience, and resources.
Regional collaboration takes time and intention, but this is our moment and this is our Region. How we choose to lead for tomorrow will create a more attractive and competitive Region for generations to come.
